TYPES AND FEATURES OF ALUMINIZED HEAT-RESISTANT CLOTHING

Aluminized Heat-Resistant Suits

While the primary functions of aluminized heat-resistant suits—protecting against metal splash and reflecting radiant heat—come from the external aluminized layer, the performance of the underlying base fabric is equally critical. Common types of base fabrics include the following, each with distinct characteristics:

  • Flame-Retardant (FR) Cotton Suits
  • Fiberglass Fabric Suits
  • Aramid Blend Fabric Suits

01 Flame-Retardant (FR) Cotton Suits

Lower cost.

However, as they use treated cotton fabric, they often lack durability and offer less effective flame retardancy and thermal insulation.

02 Fiberglass Fabric Suits

These suits provide protection and durability in high-temperature environments, but improper use or handling can pose several hazards:

Respiratory System: Inhaling fiberglass dust can irritate the airways, with potential long-term risks of lung disease.

Skin: The stiff fibers can cause itching, scratches, or dermatitis, especially when the fabric is damp or exposed to heat.

Eyes: Fiberglass particles can lead to eye irritation, pain, or conjunctivitis.

Environment: Incineration may release harmful gases, causing environmental pollution.

03 Aramid Blend Fabric Suits

Aramid blend suits represent a superior choice. Aramid fibers inherently offer high-temperature resistance and excellent mechanical strength. Blending them with other high-performance fibers results in fabric that maintains the same level of protection while providing better overall value and cost-effectiveness.

Veritas High-Temperature Protection Solutions

Veritas offers two high-performance heat-resistant fabrics: HS-350PY2Y and HS-480PIP4Y.

Both are constructed from aramid and high-performance fiber blended base fabrics.Certified to EN ISO 11612 standards for protection against heat and flame. Environmentally friendly and non-toxic, posing no harm to the wearer.
