Molten Steel Splash ! Multiple People Suffer Burns Covering Over 90% !

Splashes of high-temperature molten metals like steel are a common hazard in metal smelting and foundry operations. Ordinary workwear offers no protection against such dangers.

Targeted protective clothing goes beyond standard flame-resistant (FR) garments. Common FR cotton or aramid clothing, while offering some protection against flames, can melt, burn through, or even adhere to the skin when exposed to molten metal splashes, causing secondary injuries.

Molten metals like steel reach temperatures exceeding 1000°C. The potential harm from such heat contacting the skin is unimaginable!

Facing this severe hazard, WLTech recommends: Metal Stopper® and LifeSafe® HS fabrics.

Advantages of Metal Stopper®

  • Specifically researched and developed for the metal smelting industry.
  • Proven effective not only against molten aluminum and iron but also against splashes of other high-temperature molten substances like silicon, zinc, magnesium, and cryolite.
  • Offers moisture-wicking properties and a lighter weight for improved comfort.

Advantages of LifeSafe® HS

  • Specifically developed for high-temperature smelting environments.
  • Provides superior radiant heat insulation when near high-temperature heat sources.
  • Effectively protects against radiant heat, contact heat, and sudden flames or splashes of hot substances encountered during daily operations.

How to Correctly Match Metal Stopper® and LifeSafe® HS
For optimal protection in environments with a high risk of molten metal splash, it is recommended to use Metal Stopper® as the primary protective layer (e.g., shirts, trousers, coveralls) due to its superior resistance to direct molten substance contact. For tasks involving significant exposure to intense radiant heat (e.g., working near furnaces), garments made with LifeSafe® HS are highly recommended as an outer layer or for specific high-heat zones to provide enhanced thermal insulation. A layered approach, combining the specific strengths of each fabric based on the task’s primary hazards, offers the most comprehensive defense.
