Understanding Contact Heat, Radiant Heat, and Convective Heat
1. Contact Heat Transfer
Contact heat occurs when heat moves directly from a hot surface, through the fabric, and into the body.
Certified in levels F1, F2, F3.
2. Radiant Heat Transfer
Radiant heat is transferred through electromagnetic radiation.
Examples include the warmth of sunlight or the intense heat felt when opening a furnace door.
Certified in levels C1, C2, C3, C4.
3. Convective Heat Transfer
Convective heat occurs when heat is transferred through the movement of air or liquid around the body—typically in high-temperature gaseous or liquid environments.
Certified in levels B1, B2, B3.
